henrietta macphee

HENRIETTA MACPHEE (b. 1985) is an artist whose practice is centred in clay.

Through a fresh, child-like perspective on the world, she portrays scenes of poetic tenderness and humour, interweaving metaphors that celebrate the diversity of people and their cultures. Modeling by hand and painting directly onto the clay, she creates a visual language that blends the tangible and the illusory, crafting playful illusions and a sense of complexity that traverses the boundary between 2D and 3D. Her work has been selected for exhibitions across the UK, including the International Ceramics Festival in Aberystwyth, the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, and the ING Discerning Eye in London.
