ANDREW SZCZECH (b. 1963) graduated with an MA in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School in 2020, following a career in industry.

Szczech has developed a visual language in response to specific sites that hold emotional resonance for him. His work centres on ideas of broken physical and socio-political utopias. Cracks sprawl across the surfaces - curving, jittery, crazed. The works are infused with notions of permanence and impermanence, invoking these ideas of fractured utopias. An overriding sense of melancholy pervades the work.
